Are you seeing kids in your library that seem to need more help, but you are not sure what you can do? Discover the perspective of a former teen and hear her story of how the public library helped her when she was experiencing homelessness. Learn ways that your library can engage vulnerable children and teens, from identifying them to offering support, resources, and connection. Join the conversation. Learn of infrastructure in your community and how to be a partner with school districts to help serve young people experiencing homelessness. Libraries play a unique role in serving as a consistent, safe, and welcoming place for all youth and families, and even more so for those experiencing homelessness. Find out how you can make a difference.

Learning outcomes:
  1. Participants will learn ways to engage vulnerable children and teens, from identifying them to offering support, resources, and connection
  2. Participants will gain real-life perspective from a former teen who experienced homelessness.
  3. Participants will gain practical connections for partnerships in their own communities.
